Ginny Butcher

Ginny Butcher has been painting in oil for over twenty years. Her work is impressionist in style, yet also  realistic. Ginny fell in love with Wyoming when she first moved here from New Hampshire in 1980.

Her years of living here have nurtured her love and appreciation for the land, the people and the animals  who call this home. You can see that love and appreciation in her paintings, regardless of the subject.  But it seems to show up most in her landscapes.

Ginny’s work is included in the permanent collection of the Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper, as well as  in many private collections around the world.

She received an Award of Merit in the 2023 Oil Painters of America Western Regional Exhibition. She has  received Juror’s Choice awards in the Wyoming Governor’s Capitol Art and Exhibition. Solo shows have  been at the Nicolaysen Art Museum and the Mildred Zahradncik Gallery in Casper, Wyoming.

She is currently working on a project in Cheyenne, Wyoming, painting studies of all the bronze  sculptures placed by the Capitol Ave Bronze Project.
