Artist's Statement
One of the greatest gifts of life is to have freedom of choice. Included in those choices is where we choose to be. Where we choose to stand. And what we choose to stand for. This painting is about choosing to be in and stand for light. As the distant hills and lake are descending into shadow, the aspen stands resolutely and firmly in the light, clinging to light. Reflecting light. Light, which provides life, hope and peace.
